The team from Sverdlovsk region have won today gold and silver medals at Russian U24 National Championship, which started in Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod Region)

Start of Russian U24 Championship, one of the most important national tournaments this year, which is traditionally held in Kstovo (Nizhniy Novgorod region), was marked by two awards for Sverdlovsk region athletes. Sergey Kuznetsov from UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma) had no rivals in U98 kg weight category, and Ekaterina Khasanova from Sambo and Judo School of Olympic Reserve (Yekaterinburg) became silver medalist in U50 kg weight category. Now, as the winner of the U24 Championship, Sergey is qualified for participation in the European Cups this year.

In the final of the youth championship Sergey was opposed by Kirill Knyazkov from Moscow, who had achieved one point lead at the first minutes of the meeting. However in the middle of the fight the sambist from UMMC Sambo Club managed to score two points by the throw from the mat position and kept this minimal advantage until the winning whistle.
