3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals achieved by our sambo athletes at All-Russian Sambo Championship, held among students in memory of Honored Coach of the USSR, Professor E.M. Chumakov

Representatives of UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma), Sergey Kuznetsov (up to 98kg) and Gleb Poznakhirko (up to 98+kg), along with Ekaterina Khasanova (up to 50kg) from Ekaterinburg became the winners of the All-Russian Sambo Championship held among students in memory of the Honored Coach of the USSR, Professor E.M. Chumakov in Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod region). Sportsmen from Verkhnyaya Pyshma and Ekaterinburg, Varuzhan Sargasyan (up to 64kg) and Vera Lotkova (up to 54kg), correspondingly, won silver medals. Turpalali Gusikhanov (up to 88kg) from UMMC Sambo Club and Olesya Posylkina (up to 72kg) from Ekaterinburg bagged a bronze medal.

In the final against Sergey Trusov (Bryansk), Gleb Poznakhirko applied a 2-point impressive hold followed by a painful hold on the arm, which resulted in him winning ahead of time 2 minutes before the end of the bout.

Sergey Kuznetsov, who encountered with Andrey Ayubov (Nizhnevartovsk) in the final, kept a tight rein on the encounter and won by hold-down.

In total, over 300 sportsmen from 76 Russian universities applied for the competition.
