Eight medals of different dignity were won by sambo wrestlers from the Sverdlovsk Region following the finals of the 5th Summer Youth Spartakiad held in Kazan

Eight medals of different dignity were won by sambo wrestlers from the Sverdlovsk Region as the result of the 5th Summer Youth Spartakiad that took place in Kazan. Danir Shamsutdinov (up to 53 kg) from UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma), Lyudmila Naletova (up to 72 kg) and Roman Zheltov (over 98 kg) representing Rodina Sports Club and Sambo and Judo Sports School of the Olympic Reserve, Ekaterinburg, were most successful. All three rose to the top step of the podium.

Ekaterina Khasanova (up to 50 kg) from Ekaterinburg won a silver medal. Bronze medals were awarded to Aleksey Ivanov (up to 58 kg), Varuzhan Sargsyan (up to 64 kg) and Eldar Gadzhiev (up to 71 kg) from Verkhnyaya Pyshma and Ivan Lukanin (up to 88 kg) from Ekaterinburg.

Eventually, the Sverdlovsk Region team placed second in the overall team standings among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
