Vera Lotkova and Ramed Gukev won a prestigious international tournament - Tatarstan President Cup

Vera Lotkova (up to 54 kg) from Sambo and Judo Olympic Reserve school (Yekaterinburg) and Ramed Gukev (up to 79 kg) from UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma) became the winners of prestigious international "A" category tournament - the Cup of the Republic of Tatarstan President. The tournament was held in Kazan at the Martial Arts Palace "Ak Bars". Ramed Gukev, having won the trophy, also performed the International Master of Sports.

In the final bout our Vera Lotkova competed against a very strong Belarusian athlete Alyona Kupava. The bout turned out to be persistent and two-edged. Several times Vera went for a submission action, but the opponent all the time escaped an early surrender. A one-point throw by Lotkova on the last minute of the match decided everything. The result - victory with a minimal advantage - 1:0.

Ramed Gukev's submissions on this day were almost like in the schoolbook. In the decisive match for the "gold medal" he defeated Firdavs Hojimamatov from Uzbekistan three minutes before the end by a submission on his arm. Before that, in the semi-finals, Ramed had beaten his clubmate Ali Tursunov in the same way, but on the leg, and as a result he took the third place in this category.

Athletes from Verkhnyaya Pyshma Anna Balashova (under 80 kg) and Artur Khaptsev (98 + kg) also won bronze medals in the Cup.
