Young men from the Sverdlovsk Region were unequaled at the All-Russian Tournament in the neighboring Tyumen region

IMG-20210523-WA0005.jpg From May 22 to 23, XVIII All-Russian Sambo Tournament was held in memory of coach Nikolai Pavlovich Komarov among women and youth up to 18 years in the sports complex of Strekhnino village (Ishimskiy District of the Tyumen Region).

As for the young men, the Sverdlovsk Region wrestlers had overwhelming advantage on the mat. Our guys took the lead in all weight categories, and in some even did not let opponents to become prize-winners.

Among girls and women, the strongest were representatives of the Tyumen, Kurgan and Tomsk Regions.

The annual sports event in the Ishim District gathers up to 100 wrestlers from different cities and districts. Apart from the hosts, these were sambists from Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Kurgan, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Nizhniy Tagil and Sukhoi Log.

Over the years, Nikolai Komarov, whose memory is immortalized by these competitions, had made a great contribution to the development of judo and sambo in the town of Surgut (1978-1996) and the Ishim District (1996-2013). He raised 1 master of sports of international class, 12 masters of sports and 28 candidates master of sports in judo and sambo.
