Sergey Eliseev, President of European and All-Russian Sambo Federation pays visit to Sverdlovsk region

He assessed the progress on constructing the Palace of Sports

IMG_7668.jpg Yesterday, Sergey Eliseev, the President of the European and All-Russian Sambo Federation paid a working visit to Sverdlovsk region. In particular, he visited Verkhnyaya Pyshma, where he met with Andrey Kozitsyn (UMMC CEO) and inspected the site of the Palace of Sports under construction. The meeting, in which key regional sambo focus areas and potential major All-Russian and international tournaments were high on the agenda, was also attended by Shukhrat Makhmudov (the President of the Sambo Federation of Sverdlovsk region), Valeriy Stennikov (UMMC Sambo Club CEO) and Dmitry Malyshev (Chief HR & GM Officer). A tour of the soon-to-be Palace for Sergey Eliseev was given by Timur Gallyamov, the project superintendent, a legend of UMMC Sambo Club, a two-time world champion.

According to Gallyamov, construction works are continuing as planned. As for now, the project is 80% completed, with interior and exterior finishing works being performed. Adjacent areas are being landscaped. Construction is planned for completion until the late 2021.  

Елисеев-Галлямов-экскурсия.jpg Sergey Eliseev emphasized enormous potential and prospects of using the Palace for holding various All-Russian and international sambo competitions. In addition, the Palace will host regional tournaments. Children and teenagers from different sports clubs of Verkhnyaya Pyshma will do trainings in the Palace.

As a reminder, the edifice, taking up 8.7 ths m2, will accommodate the main arena with three wrestling mats and a seating capacity of 1,000, practice hall, gym, choreography hall. Not only will sambo competitions and trainings take place in the Palace, but also rhythmic gymnastics, karate and taekwondo tournaments.
