Now they will fight for the European Cups
The second day of Russian U24 Championship held in Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod Region) was really triumphant for the Sverdlovsk Region team. It gave us two winners at once. They became Albina Cholombitko (over 80 kg) and Roman Zheltov (over 98 kg) from Ekaterinburg Sambo and Judo Sports School, who, along with gold medals, won the right to participate in the European Cups this year.
Bronze awards of the Championship went to their teammates Olesya Posylkina (up to 72 kg) and Ivan Lukanin (up to 79 kg), as well as to Gleb Poznakhirko (over 98 kg) from UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma).
Four-point rollover, two-point retention and then another two-point throw - this was the recipe for a sparkling early victory of Albina Cholombitko already in the first minutes of the final duel with Tatyana Artamonova from Moscow.
The final fight for the "gold" between Roman Zheltov and Ivan Shavolin, winner of the world championship from Novokuznetsk, turned to be much more persistent and drawn-out. In this clash of tactics and nerves, our athlete won by a warning received by the opponent.
