The first day of the World Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece, has brought us two gold medals

Today was the first day of the World Youth and Junior Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece, and it turned out to be a fruitful one for athletes from the Sverdlovsk Region.

Anastasia Trofimova became the winner among the girls in the category up to 54 kg and Daria Rechkalova won the tournament among the juniors in the category up to 80 kg. Kristina Dudina won a silver medal in the girls' under 50 kg category. All three of our participants in the World Championship represent Ekaterinburg, Daria Rechkalova representing the Olympic Reserve School for Sambo and Judo, Anastasia Trofimova representing the Victoria Sports School, and Kristina Dudina representing the Olympic Reserve College.

It should be noted that Daria Rechkalova had a final fight in which she put her Ukrainian opponent, Valeria Zakharevich, on her back with a sweep in the opening seconds and got an early win with a clean throw.
