UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma) started a new sambo class in Rubtsovsk (the Altai Krai)

Sambo continues to be developed in the cities where UMMC operates. Rubtsovsk (the Altai Krai) was another city where a sambo section was opened at the local Sports School No. 2 with the support of the UMMC and UMMC Sambo Club. The club provided the new section with a wrestling mat, sports equipment and outfit.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Duma members, representatives of city and regional administrations, directors of sports schools and sponsors. However, highly appreciated guests for the young sambo wrestlers were sports stars from the UMMC Sambo Club led by six-time world champion Alsim Chernoskulov, who organised a master class for the boys, several exhibition fights and the first training session.

- We are here to demonstrate that world champions are on hand, said Alsim Chernoskulov. I advise everyone who comes to sambo, to set goals and go straight towards them.

To date, more than a hundred people have already joined the new sports club.

 Children’s Sambo Programme has been successfully implemented in cities where UMMC operates since 2017. Due to it, Nevyansk Sambo Club was equipped with additional facilities, a sambo gym was opened in Kirovgrad school, and two more were opened in the Sukholozhsky District of Sverdlovsk region. Mats and equipment were purchased for two general education schools and one sports school in Serov, for a new school in Kirovgrad,  for a school in Revda, and a general education school and a sports school in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. Moreover, in 2018, the programme expanded to Mednogorsk (Orenburg region), Shadrinsk (Kurgan region), and now also the Altai Krai. In the nearest future, up to 400 children are planned to take up Sambo classes.
