The Sambo Federation of Sverdlovsk region offers its heartfelt condolences and expresses its deep sorrow at the demise of Mikhail I. Tikhomirov, Russia’s Merited Coach, Master of Sports of the USSR, Honorary Physical Culture Worker, Honorary President of the All-Russian and International Sambo Federation.

It is hard to find someone who would be so firmly committed to, and deeply into our national sport. Due to his vibrancy, enthusiasm and organizational skills, sambo was winning over new countries and continents year after year and attracting fans in the most far-reaching corners of the world. As a true sambist, he had always known how to fight and win. We will definitely keep legacies of him.

Mikhail Tikhomirov’s memory will live on forever in our hearts.
