The best sambo wrestlers of UMMC Sambo Club conducted a masterclass for students of the sambo club at a comprehensive school No. 25 in Verkhnyaya Pyshma

On January 26, the boys and girls who practiced sambo at a sambo club of comprehensive school №25 (Verkhnyaya Pyshma) were given a gift. The most titled athletes of UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma): Alsim Chernoskulov, the six-time world champion, Ali Kurzhev, the European Champion and the winner of the World Martial Arts Games, Vladimir Gladkikh, the World Champion and the three-time European Champion, and also Danil Ponomarenko, the winner and the prize-winner of stages of the World Cup visited the students to conduct a star masterclass. In addition, the young sambo wrestlers were presented with branded uniform as part of the All-Russian project "Sambo to school".

Please, note, that on February 25-28 in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, for the third ever time Russian Sambo Championship, the main national tournament of the year, will be hosted in the UMMC Palace of Sports, and we will get the chance to observe all our glorious champions on the mat. Young sambo wrestlers will, of course, cheer for their champions on the stands.

In addition to the All-Russian project “Sambo to School”, UMMC continues to implement Sambo Development Program in the cities of its operation. At the end of 2021, it came to Rubtsovsk (Altai Krai), where a sambo club was set up at the local sports school No. 2 supported by the UMMC and the UMMC Sambo Club. UMMC Sambo Club provided the sambo club with a wrestling mat, sports equipment and professional uniform.

The Children Sambo Development Program has been successfully implemented by UMMC since 2017. The Program has enabled to equip a sambo club in Nevyansk, to open a sambo hall in a school in Kirovgrad and two more in Sukhoy-Log district of Sverdlovsk region. Mats and equipment have been purchased for two comprehensive schools and one sports school in Serov, a new school in Kirovgrad, a school in Revda, and a comprehensive school and sports school in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. Moreover, in 2018, the project went beyond the Middle Urals to Mednogorsk (Orenburg region), Shadrinsk (Kurgan region), and now also the Altai Krai. In the near future, about 400 more children will be involved in sambo training under the Program.

As for School No. 25, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, the first sambo hall was opened there in March 2008 with the assistance of UMMC and JSC Uralelektromed.

In 2021, with assistance of the company and the Club, the school was refurbished to get a new sambo hall with sambo professional equipment.

The project is a new stage of sport development not only in that particular school, but in school sport as a whole. Under the project “Sambo to School” All-Russian Sambo Federation has provided the school with a professional mat and uniform.
