The Armed Forces Sambo Championship was held in Yekaterinburg

Sambo Competition among men was held as part of the annual Russian Armed Forces Sports Contest in Yekaterinburg on July 2-4 at “Rodina” Sports School. More than 70 athletes competed for the gold medals. The stakes were high as the finalists gained qualification for the Russian Championship to be held next year. Dmitry Kamayev from UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma) performed well bagging silver medal in U71kg weight category to be qualified for participation in the main national tournament. His teammate Daniil Tashlanov won the bronze in the U88 kg weight category. Maxim Krinitsa from Yekaterinburg also earned a bronze medal in U79kg weight category.
