Sportsmen representing the Sverdlovsk region gained three gold medals at the Sambo World Championship

This weekend in Bishkek the Sambo World Championship 2022 has finished. This sporting event brought together athletes from 52 countries, – the Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk region announced
In total, 21 sets of medals have been played: seven – for men, women and combat sambo. By the decision of FIAS, Russian and Belarusian sambo wrestlers competed at the world championship in a neutral status.
This year the Russian sambo team set a “new era” record as regards to the number of victories and medals at world championships. Our team has won 19 medals at the tournament in Bishkek: thirteen gold, two silver, and four bronze. The Kyrgyz team (2 – 1 – 3) took the second place, and the third place was given to the Belarusian team (1 – 3 – 4), which also (like Russian team) competed under the FIAS flag.
Let's note success of our titled wrestlers. Mansur Khabibulaev became five-time world champion in combat sambo (“up to 64 kg” weight category), and Sergey Ryabov became four-time world champion in sport sambo (“up to 88 kg” category).
The team of the Sverdlovsk region stood tall this time again, bringing three gold medals. Sverdlovsk region champions Stanislav Skryabin (“up to 79 kg” weight category) won gold of the Championship, Olesya Posylkina (“up to 72 kg” weight category) and Darya Rechkalova (“up to 80 kg” weight category) also won gold medals. Ekaterina Khasanova (“up to 50 kg” weight category) and Anton Brachev (“over 98 kg” weight category) won “bronze” of the Championship.
As for the prize fund, the gold medalist will get 4 thousand US dollars, the silver medalist – 3 thousand US dollars, and the bronze medalists – 2 thousand US dollars each.
