Biography
Having moved to Verkhnyaya Pyshma from Kurgan in 2000, he opened a new page for sambo in Sverdlovsk. The region had not witnessed such success since the time of the legendary Aleksandr Fedorov. Kolesnikov's example was inspiring for his younger colleagues. First came the victories at the National and European championships, and in 2006 the World top was reached. Since then, he won sixteen World championships. From 2006 to 2018, he was the head of the Sverdlovsk Region Judo Federation.
